Joe Philbin | Owner/President

Joe founded Philbin Construction in 2017. With over 30 years in the heavy civil construction and earthwork field, Joe possesses the right combination of technical know-how and practical, on the ground experience. Over a span of 14 years, Joe worked his way up from Project Manager and Estimator, to Vice President, Chief Estimator, and Board Member at Sukut Construction.

Kyle Trigg | Superintendent

Kyle brings a lifetime of experience around large grading projects to the field. His professional journey began as a soils technician, where he gained valuable technical insight into soil composition and behavior—knowledge that now plays a key role in his leadership on earthmoving jobs. Since joining Philbin in September 2021, Kyle has become a reliable and knowledgeable asset to the team, known for his hands-on approach, strong work ethic, and deep understanding of site preparation and grading operations. His background and dedication make him a vital part of ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Rod Larson | Foreman

Rod brings over 50 years of hands-on experience in the earthmoving industry. He began his career as a laborer and worked his way up through the ranks, gaining a deep, practical understanding of the trade. For many years, Rod was a key part of the team at Ebensteiner, a well-respected name in large-scale earthmoving, where he honed his skills on a wide range of complex projects. Since joining Philbin in August 2023, Rod has become a steady and reliable presence on the job site. Known for his calm demeanor and thoughtful leadership, he helps guide crews with a focus on logic, safety, and efficiency—making him a trusted decision-maker in the field.

Garrett Powell | Project Manager

Garrett is a Project Manager at Philbin Construction, where he plays a vital role in overseeing project execution and financial performance. He earned his degree in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Business from Brigham Young University and previously interned with the company for three summers, building a strong foundation in the field. In his role, Garrett manages project budgeting, ensuring costs stay aligned with overall goals and expectations. He is responsible for submitting RFIs and submittals, helping maintain clear communication and compliance throughout each phase of construction. Garrett also closely tracks job costs, contributing to efficient project delivery and overall company success.

Jackson Philbin | Office Administrator

Jackson began his career at Philbin Construction as a laborer and later completed an internship with the company. This combination of hands-on work and practical experience has given him a comprehensive understanding of the company’s operations and the construction industry. Jackson graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Economics and a minor in Finance, providing him with strong analytical and financial skills. He currently helps keep Philbin’s office running smoothly by coordinating schedules, managing paperwork, handling bookkeeping, and supporting communication between field crews and field management. Jackson is committed to growing his expertise and contributing to the continued success of Philbin.
